Privacy notice
Last updated 1 October 2026. This explains what Godu collects to understand how it’s used, and how to stop it. Placeholders marked TODO still need Dylan to fill in.
Who runs Godu
Godu is run by [TODO: legal name of the data controller]. Email [TODO: privacy contact email] with any questions or to use your rights below.
We use PostHog, Inc. (EU cloud) to see how Godu is used. Your data goes to PostHog’s EU servers (eu.i.posthog.com), and PostHog only handles it on our instructions.
Before you choose, or if you say no
We count visits without storing anything in your browser. We can’t tell one day’s visit from the next, or link a visit to you or your account. A count can include:
- the page address, with chat ids and invite codes removed
- campaign tags and where you came from, if the link had them
- rough device and browser details
Before you choose, we also count a simple sign-up funnel: how many people opened sign-in, asked for a code, entered it, and saw the analytics question. These counts aren’t linked to your email or name. If you choose Don’t share, they stop. We never identify you, record your sessions or collect error reports unless you choose to share.
If you choose Share analytics
We treat this as your consent. We then store identifiers in your browser, such as a cookie, so we can track your usage over time. We link this to your account using your user id, email and name. We collect what you do in Godu, error reports, and recordings of your sessions.
Session recordings only happen on godu.work. Text and anything you type is hidden, so your chats shouldn’t be readable, and we don’t collect console logs. Godu works the same if you say no.
Changing your mind
Open Settings → Profile → Share analytics and turn it off. Tracking stops and we clear what we stored in your browser. We may still count anonymous page views.
Your choice is saved to your account, so it applies on every device you sign in on. When you sign out, your browser goes back to storing nothing.
You can also email [TODO: privacy contact email] and ask us to stop, or to delete analytics data we hold about you.
How long we keep it
Your choice stays on your account until you change it. We keep analytics data for: [TODO: confirm PostHog retention, e.g. events for 1 year and session replay for 30 days].
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, stop using it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can withdraw your consent at any time, as above. We don’t make automated decisions that significantly affect you.
If you’re unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
